Welcome to Union Baptist Church
We are delighted to have you join our family. As you begin your journey with us, we encourage you to explore the various opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service that Union Baptist Church offers. Whether you are new to the faith or seeking a deeper relationship with God, we are committed to supporting you along the way and walking beside you as you discover your place in our church family.
I’m a new member, now what?
As a new member, you can look forward to the following:
- Within one week, you will receive a call from your temporary Family Deacons at the church, along with an invitation to join the New Member Orientation Classes.
- Completing all classes leads to baptism (for new converts) and a promotion certificate, along with a shout-out during the morning worship services.
- You will be introduced to your permanent Family Deacons, who are dedicated to assisting you in your journey with Christ.
- You will have opportunities to participate in various fellowship activities, join a ministry, and grow in your relationship with Christ.

What membership means at Union
At Union Baptist Church of New Castle County, Inc. we believe that membership is a joyful covenant — a commitment to follow Jesus together and to build up His body in love. These expectations help us grow as disciples, serve our community, and strengthen the fellowship of believers.
Discipleship & Spiritual Growth
Participate regularly in discipleship training that deepens biblical understanding and practical obedience. Engage in Bible enrichment studies and pursue a vibrant personal devotional life of prayer and Scripture.
Fellowship & Belonging
Be actively involved in fellowship opportunities that build genuine relationships, mutual encouragement, and accountability. Practice unity, peacemaking, and Christlike love.
Stewardship & Support
Support the ministry of the church through faithful giving, prayer, and volunteer service. Honor the church’s leadership and participate in congregational life and shared decisions.
Evangelism, Mission & Community Impact
Join our impact events and outreach efforts as we share the gospel in word and deed. Look for everyday opportunities to witness to Christ in your relationships, work, and neighborhood.
Our hope is not to create a checklist, but to call one another to a life shaped by the gospel. Membership is a partnership in mission — standing side by side for the faith of the gospel and for the flourishing of our neighbors.
