Every Christian should tithe because it is biblical. According to Scripture, a tithe is ten percent of your income — brought to support the work of God on earth (Genesis 14:20; Numbers 18:26; Hebrews 7:4).
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” — Malachi 3:10
“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me… In tithes and offerings.” — Malachi 3:8
“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him.” — 1 Corinthians 16:2. Giving should be generous and cheerful, whether it’s time, talent, or resources.
